Bichpoo is a mixed breed dog that is a cross between a Bichon Frise and a Toy Poodle. When it comes to different generations of Bichpoos, there are four main types that you might come across: F1, F1B, F2, and F3.
F1: This refers to the first generation crossbreed between a Bichon Frise and a Toy Poodle. F1 Bichpoos will typically exhibit a wide range of physical and temperamental characteristics inherited from both parent breeds, with some being more similar to one parent than the other.
F1B: This refers to a Bichpoo that is the result of breeding an F1 Bichpoo with either a Bichon Frise or a Toy Poodle. These dogs are often referred to as "backcrosses" and are generally 75% Poodle and 25% Bichon Frise or vice versa. F1B Bichpoos will generally exhibit more consistent physical and temperamental characteristics than F1 Bichpoos, as they have a higher percentage of one parent breed.
F2: This refers to a Bichpoo that is the result of breeding two F1 Bichpoos together. These dogs are usually around 50% Bichon Frise and 50% Poodle, and will generally have a more consistent appearance and temperament than F1 Bichpoos.
F3: This refers to a Bichpoo that is the result of breeding two F2 Bichpoos together. These dogs are usually around 75% Poodle and 25% Bichon Frise or vice versa, and will generally have a more consistent appearance and temperament than F2 Bichpoos.
It's important to note that while these terms can give you a general idea of what to expect from a particular Bichpoo, every dog is an individual and may not necessarily conform to the breed standards or the characteristics of their parent breeds.
If you suffer from allergies, we recommend a first or second-generation puppy. Otherwise, come in person to spend 15-20 minutes with the multigeneration puppy to see if you feel any allergy reactions as some may have small traces of similar but different breeds.
